David Notrica, MD, FACS
Pediatric Surgery Rotation Director

Dr. David Notrica is board certified in pediatric surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He graduated Cum Laude from Duke University in 1988 and Emory University School of Medicine in 1992 where he was class president and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He completed his general surgery residency training at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in 1997 and his Pediatric Surgery Fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston in 1999. Dr. David Notrica is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Mayo Clinic and Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Notrica is Chief of Staff at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. In 2007, Dr. Notrica developed a Level 1 Trauma Center for Phoenix Children's Hospital. This program is the only ACS-Verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in Arizona. Despite a busy pediatric surgery practice, Dr. Notrica continues as the Trauma Medical Director.

Juan Acosta, MD, FACS

Dr. Acosta is is board certified in pediatric surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of California Davis. Dr. Acosta completed a 5 year General Surgery Residency and was Chief Resident at the Martin Luther King Jr./Charles Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He also did two years of intense basic science research at the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles (CHLA) in preparation for his fellowship in pediatric surgery. After completion of his general surgery residency in 2004, he did his subspecialty training for two years as the pediatric surgery fellow at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He is the current Section Chief of Pediatric Surgery at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Dr. Acosta has been practicing since 1997. He is currently part of the Pediatric Surgeons of Phoenix.

Michael Dimler, MD, FACS

Dr. Dimler is a board-certified pediatric surgeon. He earned his Medical Degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. His internship and surgical residencies, including a year as chief resident, were completed at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Dimler's pediatric surgery fellowship was completed at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. After serving three years as the pediatric surgery consultant to the Commanding General, U.S. Army Medical Command, Europe, Dr. Dimler began practice in Johnson City, Tennessee. He moved his practice to Phoenix in 1986. Dr. Dimler has been practicing since 1968. He is currently part of the Pediatric Surgeons of Phoenix.

J. Craig Egan, MD, FACS

Dr. Egan is board certified in pediatric surgery, general surgery, and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Egan earned his Medical Degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1995 where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He completed his general surgery residency training at David Grant USAF Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base, in 2001. After general surgery practice for the US Air Force, he received additional training in pediatric surgical critical care at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin prior to his pediatric surgery fellowship which he completed in 2008. He is surgical co-director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Dr. Egan has been practicing since 1995. He is currently part of the Pediatric Surgeons of Phoenix.

Kathy Graziano, MD, FACS

Dr. Graziano is board certified in pediatric surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Graziano received her Medical Degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, New York and completed her general surgery training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where she was also the administrative chief resident. She continued her training with The University of Michigan Hospitals, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, for her fellowship in pediatric surgery. Dr. Graziano is the Medical Director of Pediatric Surgery at Scottsdale Healthcare-Shea where she serves on several committees to actively promote best practices for ancillary medical staff. She is also the Director of the Reproductive Anomalies Clinic at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a multidisciplinary clinic that serves the complex needs of patients with congenital malformations of the reproductive system. Dr. Graziano has been practicing since 1996. She is currently part of the Pediatric Surgeons of Phoenix.

Jae-O Bae, MD, FACS

Dr. Jae-O Bae is board certified in pediatric surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He earned his Medical Degree from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, New Jersey. He completed his residency in general surgery at Columbia University Medical Center / New York-Presbyterian Hospitals. During his residency, he spent two years doing basic science research in neuroblastoma angiogenesis combined with a clinical fellowship in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. Following his general surgery training, Dr. Bae completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School / Children’s Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Bae has been practicing since 2000. He is currently part of the Pediatric Surgeons of Phoenix.

Stuart Lacey, MD, FACS

Dr. Stuart Lacey is board certified in pediatric surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Lacey received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He completed an internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas and a residency at Children's Hospital. He has been practicing since 1980.

Leigh McGill, MD, FACS

Dr. Leigh McGill is a board-certified pediatric surgeon. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. McGill completed an internship and residency at Maricopa County General Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. He completed a fellowship at Denver Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado and a pediatric urology fellowship at Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He is Past Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona, and an Instructor of Surgery for Mayo Clinic-Arizona. Dr. McGill has been practicing since 1975 and practicing in Arizona longer than any other pediatric surgeon. Dr. McGill is currently part of the Pediatric Surgeons of Phoenix.

Lisa McMahon, MD, FACS

Dr. McMahon is board certified in pediatric surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. After spending three years as a Peace Corps volunteer in Guatemala, Dr. McMahon attended medical school at Texas A & M University College of Medicine in College Station, Texas. Dr. McMahon completed her general surgery training at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale in 2006 and her pediatric surgery fellowship training at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. McMahon has been practicing since 2001. She is currently part of the Pediatric Surgeons of Phoenix.

Dorothy Rowe, MD, FACS

Dr. Dorothy Rowe is board certified in pediatric surgery and general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. She earned her Medical Degree at Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, New York and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She went on to a residency in general surgery at Columbia and spent two years completing a combined research/ECMO fellowship at the Babies and Children's Hospital of New York. She completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at the Children's Hospital of New York. She has been practicing since 1994. Dr. Rowe is currently part of the Pediatric Surgeons of Phoenix.
